UBITECH’s R&D team has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and delivery of data processing, data sharing, and data analysis platforms that address business needs through the extraction of valuable knowledge and added value, the reveal of trends and hidden patterns or correlations that will facilitate the prediction and decision making. In this sense, the team is highly interested in the explainability aspects of AI that constitute an emerging and valuable approach in the AI research area.
Q: What is the novelty of XMANAI and the main benefits envisaged for your organization?
A: XMANAI aims to design and implement a novel Explainable AI Platform powered by explainable AI models that inspire trust, augment human cognition, and solve concrete manufacturing problems with value-based explanations.
UBITECH is continuously seeking and validating new, emerging technologies, developing new ideas, concepts, and solutions, and improving existing software applications and products for vertical markets or for addressing specific end-user’s needs. Through its participation in XMANAI, UBITECH aspires to reinforce its solutions portfolio through the offering of innovative and specialized applications and services not yet present in the market or through the expansion and optimization of its current services and prototypes in the areas of Factories of the Future, e-maintenance, Industrial IoT and Artificial Intelligence.
Q: Which target groups can benefit from XMANAI?
A: XMANAI facilitates the exploitation of the state of art AI technologies and tools towards the resolution of critical manufacturing problems with the help of concrete, human-understandable and explainable insights of how the predictions and decisions were made. XMANAI aims to facilitating the core stakeholders of small and large factories and industrial customers (such as data scientists, data engineers, and business users) to perform valuable analysis toward effective decision-making, a decrease of costs, and assurance of business continuity.
Q: As the main integrator partner of the project, how do you envision the XMANAI progress beyond the state of the art?
A: XMANAI will effectively and smoothly integrate different innovative technologies and tools in order to provide to the stakeholders of the platform a complete list of novel functionalities and features in the areas of data sharing and explainable AI. The novelty of XMANAI resides in the explainability of the results produced by the executed ML models in an understandable and explainable manner. To meet its goals, XMANAI will deliver “glass box” AI models which provide valuable insights and explanations to the human users of the platform with regard to how and why a decision has been made.
